James M. Whitehurst
Red Hat

"We see Raleigh as a strategic advantage"

James M. Whitehurst, CEO of Red Hat, explains why, after an analysis of several cities, Raleigh was selected for the company’s headquarters. He describes the City as providing an excellent quality of life, including easy commutes to downtown, low cost of living, abundant educational opportunities, and fantastic local talent. James also discusses Raleigh’s business culture, noting that Red Hat benefits from being in a place where other entrepreneurial companies are located.  He says that Raleigh “has a ton of momentum” as felt when walking down the streets, dining in restaurants, and talking to other business leaders who are considering locating here.
